TNPSC Group 1 Answer Key 2026

When the TNPSC Group 1 answer key releases, how to estimate your score against past cut offs, and how to file an objection that counts.

6 Sept 2026*exam date

* Tentative date from the TNPSC annual planner; updated here the day TNPSC confirms it.

Worth knowing

  • Marks = correct answers × 1.5, there is no negative marking
  • Tentative key first; marks are awarded only against the final key
  • Objections need evidence: cite the textbook line, inside the window

Tentative key first, final key later

TNPSC publishes a tentative answer key with an objection window, then a final key after reviewing objections. Marks are awarded only against the final key, early score estimates can move a few marks either way.

Estimating your score

Count your correct answers from the tentative key and multiply by 1.5, with no negative marking there is nothing to subtract. Compare against the last three years of category cut offs to know where you stand before results.

Objections that actually work

Evidence beats volume: cite the Samacheer textbook line or official source that supports your answer, in the prescribed format, inside the window. A single well-evidenced objection can add marks for every candidate who chose that answer.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the TNPSC Group 1 answer key publish?
On tnpsc.gov.in under the exam's page, first tentative with an objection window, then final. The final key is binding.
How do I calculate my score from the key?
Correct answers × 1.5 marks. There is no negative marking, so wrong answers cost nothing beyond the missed marks.
