01 · DA revisions
DA gets revised twice a year.
The 22% figure tracks the current rate. Each revision adds 2 – 4% to your in-hand without you doing anything.
02 · City tier matters
Chennai pays 8% more in HRA.
X-class cities (16%) pay nearly double Z-class (8%) — the same post can take home thousands more depending on posting.
03 · Beyond cash
Medical, CGHS, and pension on top.
Group A roles get government quarters or higher HRA, GPF, NPS contribution, and CGHS coverage for the family — not reflected in the in-hand number.
