How to Challenge the TNPSC Answer Key

After every exam TNPSC publishes a tentative answer key and a short objection window. A well-evidenced objection can change your result; a lazy one changes nothing.

Worth knowing

  • Objections win on evidence, not volume, file only the questions where you have a real case
  • Cite Samacheer textbooks or official government sources with book, page and line
  • The final key is binding and applies to everyone, a correction changes marks for all who chose it

Step by step

01Download the tentative key and mark disputes

Compare against your recorded answers. Shortlist only the questions where you have a genuine case, volume doesn't help, evidence does.

02Gather textbook evidence

Objections that cite Samacheer textbooks or official government sources carry weight. Note the book, page and exact line that supports your answer.

03File within the window through the portal

Submit each objection in the prescribed format with your evidence attached, before the deadline. Late objections are not considered.

04Watch for the final key

TNPSC reviews all objections and publishes a final key, which is binding. If a question is deleted, marks are typically redistributed as per the notification's rules.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a fee to challenge the answer key?
TNPSC's process has generally been free of per-question fees; confirm in the specific exam's announcement since procedures are notification-specific.
Do successful objections help everyone?
Yes. The final key applies to all candidates, so a corrected answer changes marks for everyone who chose it.
How long is the objection window?
Short, usually a handful of days after the tentative key is published, and stated in that exam's announcement. Late objections are not considered, so act as soon as the key is out.
