MBC (Most Backward Class)
A 20% reservation category for Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities in Tamil Nadu government recruitment.
MBC/DNC holds its own roster points, separate from BC, and its cut offs move independently: in the 2023 Group 4 written exam the MBC cut off was 145 of 300 against 150 for OC (male). Age relaxations match BC, 34 for degree-level exams and no upper limit for Group 4, claimed through the permanent community certificate at verification.
