TET (Teacher Eligibility Test)
The qualifying test for school-teacher posts: Paper 1 for classes 1 to 5, Paper 2 for classes 6 to 8. Qualification is a prerequisite for TRB recruitment.
TET splits by teaching level: Paper 1 qualifies you for classes 1 to 5 and Paper 2 for classes 6 to 8, each written separately. Passing TET does not itself grant a job; it is the eligibility ticket that TRB recruitment then requires. Which paper you need depends on the post you intend to apply for, so fix the target post first.
