Probation Period

The initial assessment period after joining, typically 2 years within a continuous 3, on full pay, before your appointment is confirmed.

Probationers draw the full pay of the post, and annual increments accrue normally through the period, so probation is not a reduced-pay phase, a common misreading. The 2-within-3-years construction allows for interruptions: the two years of assessed service must fall inside a continuous three-year window. Confirmation follows satisfactory completion of the period.
