In April 2026, the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment launched the upgraded Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) 2.0 App and the SMILE-Beggary Survey Mobile Application during the Chintan Shivir in Chandigarh.

- NMBA was first launched on 15 August 2020 for 272 vulnerable districts and expanded to all districts on 15 August 2023.
- NMBA has sensitized over 26 crore people, including 9.5 crore youth, through 8.3 lakh activities.
- More than 28,000 Nasha Mukti Mitras have been deployed across India under NMBA.
