- Kavach is an indigenously developed Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system with SIL-4 safety certification.
- The system was adopted as the National ATP system in July 2020 after field trials that began in February 2016.
- Version 4.0 was approved by RDSO on 16.07.2024 and improves location accuracy and signal information in large yards.
- Trackside Kavach implementation has begun on 24,427 RKm, including the Golden Quadrilateral, Golden Diagonal and High-Density Networks.
- More than 55,000 personnel, including 47,500 Loco Pilots and Assistant Loco Pilots, have been trained with IRISET.
